Viper Island Andaman and Nicobar

Viper Island is near Port Blair in Andaman district in the Andaman Islands, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a union territory of India and was the site of the jail where the British used to imprison convicts and political prisoners. It has the ruins of a gallows atop a hillock. The jail was abandoned when the Cellular Jail was constructed in 1906.

Viper Island
The Britishers used to harbor convicts here. It has a gallows atop a hillock, where condemned prisoners were hanged. Sher Ali, who killed Lord Mayo, the Viceroy of India in 1872, was also hanged here. The scenic beauty of the Viper Island in Andaman and Nicobar Islands is also commendable. You would be fascinated by the charming vegetation and natural beaches there. The small piece of land that is surrounded by waters is accessible only through water and is one of the favorite tourist hangouts.
